Art with young learners

Following up on an activity in their textbooks (Kid's Box 3, Cambridge University Press) about portraits we started working with national artists. 

It was a fantastic opportunity to get to know our artists and use the target language.

After sharing this work with Cambridge representative, we got this reply:

Project Time June 2016

June - July is project time at La Casona. 

Every student, either individually or in a group must prepare a project on a topic or choose from a list of topics suggested by the teacher and they must do a presentation for the rest of the class. 

No matter the level of the pupils, they all have to use the language they know in order to do the project.

I chose for this project a topic that I love…

Soil is very important and often affects  competition

On the grass

On the snow

On the sand

On the mud

In Uruguay there are only sand racing tracks…

But in the world there are many countries with grass racing tracks

“Santa Anita Park” is a racetrack that I like,is well known for having the best races with the best horses in the world. This racetrack has grass courts and sand courts

Pre- intermediate: Soils support recreation

sports shoes
The different surface where the sporting activity is practised determines the sport shoes the sportsperson wears also to prevent injuries. 

Generally the sports activities done outside in natural surfaces, they need sport shoes of great traction. Also there are some sports practiced outdoors but in synthetic surface that need other type of footwear. 

On the other hand they sports practiced indoor almost always the surfaces are smooth. As these sports are practised in reduced space, the intensity is greater and the rate of change of pace, acceleration and braking are common, therefore the soles of the footwears are very similar between sports, but in basketball is different .

Minion's House

This is my crazy house. It is a Minion!! It has got two windows which are the eyes,a door and stairs. I had this idea because I saw the film and liked it very much. In this case I made Kevin who is the best of all Minions. The movie is about the Minions looking for their favourite villain in the world, Scarlet. Scarlet wants to steal the crown of Queen Elizabeth and she used the Minions to do that. Well,I hope you enjoy my project :)

World`s narrowest house

Polish architect Jakub Szczesny claims to have built the world`s narrowest house, just 122 centimetres across at it`s widest point.

The Keret House is squeezed into a crevice between two buildings in the centre of Warsaw and will provide a temporary home for travelling writers.

"It started with the space" Szczecny told Dezeen after explaining how he came across the site when walking home one day.

My crazy house

My crazy house has got 3 bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, 2 livingrooms, 2 diningrooms and 2 kitchens.

This house has got pink doors, blue walls, black windows and the chairs are dancing!.

 The garden is orange!!

My crazy house is a planet. This house has got blue walls and blue windows.There are 2 bathrooms,4 bedrooms,1 livingroom,1diningroom and 1 kitchen.There is a water fall on top,a garage and a big garden!!
